About the Teacher

Hi! My name is Mrs. Donna Caskey.
I am excited to be teaching kindergarten students again at Mapleton. I am also a Mapleton KEA Association Representative.  Here is some more information about me:

My Education

I have a Master's Degree in Education from Georgetown College, and a B.A. degree in Early Elementary Education from Berea College. I attended Bryan Station Senior High in Lexington, where I grew up.
My Teaching Experience

I have been teaching for 20 years. I have five years of fifth grade teaching experience, four years of first grade, three years of kindergarten, and two years experience as a Title 1 Reading and Math teacher at Mapleton. I have six years of kindergarten teaching experience in Fayette County - five at Breckinridge and one at Russell Elementary. I have also been a primary assistant and a substitute teacher.
My Family

My husband is Jay Caskey. We moved to Mt. Sterling fourteen years ago. We've been married for nineteen years!
My husband and I have a daughter named Lee Catherine Caskey. She is now a 13-year-old attending McNabb.  It's hard to believe she's in eighth grade already!
We also have some dogs. One of them was named "Chocolate Chip" by my husband and daughter. Chip has two brown circles on his back that look like huge chocolate chips!
Some of my favorite things:

*Italian food

*watching movies

*music (especially country)

*computers (using the Internet)

*spending time with my family

*learning about new technology
