My name is Cori Diedrich. I am so excited to be working at Mapleton Elementary again this school year. This is my 20th year in education! I taught 2nd and 3rd grade for 9 years, math intervention for 6 years, and 2nd grade for the last 3 years. This year I am continuing my position as the Curriculum Resource Teacher!!!
I have been married for 23 years to my husband Kevin and we have two boys: Daniel who is 23, and Dylan who is 16 and is in 11th grade at the Academy which is part of the MCHS program. In my free time, I love to read, shop (especially for shoes), and take pictures!
I attended my undergrad at both The University of the Cumberlands (formerly Cumberland College when I attended), and Morehead State University. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education, Masters in Elementary Education, and my Rank I in Elementary Education. I have had the opportunity to supervise 5 students teachers as well as 7 KTIP Intern teachers throughout my years of teaching.
I love my job because I love working with students who are eager to learn. It's exciting to see students understand concepts and enjoy learning something new each day. I especially enjoy being off in the summer and on snow days so that I can spend that time with my family.
I'm so glad to be a part of MES!!
