Principal's Message

Welcome to another exciting year of learning, growing, and connecting MSE Families.

As your new principal I first and foremost want to begin by saying that I am looking forward to getting to meet and know our students and families. MSE, as an entire community, has worked tirelessly over the years to develop an amazing culture of excellence both for our students and community. The accomplishments of our students are second to none and we as an entire staff will continue to help them meet their maximum potential. We know that our families and community are a vital part of all that we do and are essential to our success. We know that we are living in uncertain times, but we want you to know that our commitment to our students is unwavering. I am beyond blessed to be able to lead and work alongside each of you.

We also have a couple additional changes this year as well. We welcome a new assistant principal, Ms. Stacey Burns to our team and Mrs. Jordyn Simpson who will be teaching 5th grade Math. Our school day has also been lengthened by 15 minutes. School will start at 7:40 am and will end at 2:55 pm. Our day will begin with classroom Morning Meetings to help our students become acclimated to a new school year and to enhance relationship building among our school community. Our front office staff remains the same, so Mrs. Belinda Newsome will continue to be the cheerful voice at the other end of the line when you call. Mrs. Sara Beth Mays continues to be our school counselor, Mrs. Cartrec Garrett, our FRC Social Worker, and Mrs. Rachel Howard, our attendance clerk. We are all available to assist and are ready to serve our MSE Community.

Our theme for this year is "MSE Colors the World with Kindness." We are fortunate to already have a school community that not only understands what it means to be kind, but exemplifies it daily. In spite of all that may go on in the world, we at MSE will always model for others a passion and commitment to the Golden Rule and will serve others and be an example for all. We are already currently working on plans to serve our community and families, and will be regularly communicating those plans on our school Facebook page and website. We will also be sharing information through the use of BrightArrow, our mass notification system.

We pride ourselves on not simply communicating, but rather connecting with our community. Please feel free to contact us at any time you have a question and let us know how we can serve you better.
