Mission Statement

The mission of J.B. McNabb Middle School is to provide a safe and secure environment that will promote academic excellence, social success, and a lifelong passion for learning for all students.  This will prepare students to become productive citizens in a diverse and ever changing world.

 

Principal: Brandy Holley

Mrs. Holley is entering her 19th year in education and her 1st as the Principal of McNabb Middle School.  Mrs. Holley has had experience in teaching at the elementary level in Nicholas and Montgomery counties and has served in an administrative role at McNabb Middle school, and principal of Mount Sterling Elementary School prior to returning to McNabb Middle School. 

Mrs. Holley received both her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Master's degree in Instructional Leadership from Morehead State University.  While at MSU, Mrs. Holley was a member of the Women's Soccer team and several service organizations. 

 

Mrs. Holley is very excited to begin her 1st year as the principal of McNabb.  McNabb has accomplished some amazing things in the past few years and we are all looking forward to seeing what the future holds.  McNabb prides itself on being innovative and thinking outside the box.  Mrs. Holley and her team plan to continue the focus on high levels of academic achievement and high expectations coupled with the overall development of children, through communications, visibility, and accountability.   She believes that ALL students can learn at high levels and that no school can be successful without a strong relationship and commitment from the parents. 

 

Mrs. Holley resides in Mount Sterling with her husband Brian and their 3 children, Liza, Chandler, and Jack.  She has two German Shorthaired Pointers Sadie and Sophie, as well as a puppy named GG.  In her free time, Mrs. Holley enjoys reading and traveling with her family. 

 


Assistant Principal: John Preston

Mr. Preston has 30 years of public school experience with the most recent as Principal of Grant County Middle School for three years and one year as the Assistant Principal also at Grant County Middle School. He was the Vice Principal/Teacher-in-Charge in Elk Grove, California for the Elk Grove Unified School District for the five years prior to his move to Kentucky and taught in Idaho for 13 years, and 5 years in Washington.

He received his undergraduate degree from Washington State University in Physical Education/Social Studies, and was a member of the Men’s Basketball Team. Mr. Preston received his Masters in School Administration from Heritage College in Toppenish, Washington in 2000. 

Mr. Preston looks forward to working with the staff and getting to know the students at McNabb Middle School. When asked his vision, he shared, "My vision is that all students can learn and we must have the ability and desire to bring out the best in every student."

Mr. Preston and his wife, Joanie, have four children and three grandchildren. His hobbies include the family horses, Nascar, golf, basketball, and working around the farm.

 

Assistant Principal: Brandon Richards

Dr. Richards is entering his 11 year in education and 4th at J.B. McNabb as an administrator, his third as Assistant Principal and one previous year as Dean of Students.  Dr. Richards previously served as the Interim Principal of Northview elementary.  This is his ninth year in Montgomery County, previously teaching social studies at the high school and two years before that at West Point Independent School in Hardin County.

 

Dr. Richards received his Bachelor's degree from Robert Morris University in Human Resources.  He earned his Master's of Science in Instructional Leadership as wel las certification to teach social studies, grades 5-12, from Robert Morris University.  Dr. Richards completed his Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.), P-12 Leadership, as well as his Specialist in Education (Ed.S.) from Morehead State University.

 

Dr. Richards was born and raised outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He has a wife, Ashlyn, a newborn son named Jack, and dog Sadie.  His hobbies include watching sports, traveling, and being an active member of the community.
