On behalf of the staff and students of Mapleton Elementary, I am thrilled to announce the results of our 2015-16 state K-PREP assessment. Mapleton Elementary made a 20.3 point increase in our overall accountability score (64.0 in 2014-15 to 84.3 in 2015-16). Mapleton Elementary’s state classification increased from a “Proficient” school to a
“School of Distinction/High Progress School.”
This is the highest classification a school can receive. A “High Progress” school is a school that has met it’s annual measurable objective, met the participation rate requirement, and is in the TOP 10 percent of improvement.
Mapleton now ranks 44th out of 712 elementary schools in the state of Kentucky. These results just further support the truly wonderful events I see occur on a daily basis here at Mapleton. As I have shared many times—leading a school where the students’ success is the center of all we do is an honor.
To celebrate the success, students joined in a pajama day on Friday and the fourth grade students led a recognition parade as we congratulated them for a job well done. Individual award events will be scheduled for mid October.
