I'm Sherrie Colliver and I teach in the STEM Lab in an activity rotation at Mapleton Elementary. I have worked as an elementary classroom teacher and a substitute teacher in the Montgomery County School District since 1989. I have great passions for children, animals, plants and all things Science. I am thrilled to be able to come to work everyday doing what I love, teaching 720 children about their environment in the STEM Lab.
What is a STEM Lab? STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering & Math. I will incorporate all these components into their Science STEM Lab Activity class, which meets approximately once a week. Each of my lessons are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards. I will introduce students to the curriculum by engaging them in stories from a variety of cultures and regions around the world. They will be presented with real world problems that they must solve by engineering products in the STEM Lab. I am always in need of supplies and resources and give DoJo points to students who can help me out. Please see my homepage for the list of STEM Lab materials needed at this time.
