I was born and raised in eastern Kentucky, and have lived in Mount Sterling for the past eight years.  My husband and I moved here while I was working as a senior lab technician in a molecular virology lab at the University of Kentucky and he was working as an electrical engineer in Morehead.  Mount Sterling was right in the middle, and we have since chosen to make this the place to raise our two young daughters (soon to be three young daughters).

I attended college at Morehead State University, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Integrated Science in 2003.  After graduation I went to work at UK.  While there I had the opportunity to be involved in and conduct a lot of interesting research.  In 2009 I began attending Morehead State University once again in order to obtain my Master of Arts in Teaching in Science and Biology.  This will be my fourth year here at MCHS.  I am very excited to be teaching biology at MCHS again this year.

Simply put, I like teaching because I like people.  I care about my students and want them all to succeed.
