Tammy V. Haydon
Library Media Specialist
Montgomery Co. High School

After graduating from Montgomery County High School in 1987, earning a B.A. in Latin, a B.A. in English, and a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Kentucky, teaching English and Latin to high school students for 16 years, and achieving National Board Certification in my field, I'm now in my 11th year as MCHS Library Media Specialist.

My job is both to encourage and support students in their quest for knowledge, whether their search leads them through books or down one of the many avenues of the information highway, and to provide students with a wide variety of texts for their reading enjoyment. I enjoy reading young adult literature, because that allows me to talk with students about the books that interest them. I love being able to connect young people with books that ignite their passion for reading.

Summer Check-Out Days 2018

One Thursday each month over the summer, students will be able to use the library for checking books in, checking books out, and/or renewing books. The MCHS Library Media Center Summer Check-Out dates are listed below:

May 31, 2018

June 14, 2018

July 26, 2018

August 2, 2018

Always enter through the main door, and bring your student i.d.

Remember, 10th through 12th grade students must have a student ID in order to check out a book. (No ID is required to return or renew a book.) Incoming freshmen can check-out books, too. Visit the library and speak to Mrs. Haydon for more details. Always use the main entrance on summer checkout days!
