I was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky which is in Bell County. My hometown is built in a meteor crater. Just five short minutes from my house, you can stand in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia all at the same time. My dad was a coal miner and my mom worked holidays at John's Store. Education has always been very important in my family. I am the first person to graduate from college in my family and I am very proud of that. I have been teaching 17 years all in Montgomery County. I received my Bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky University in middle grades math and science. My Master's degree is through Morehead State University in Instructional Technology.

who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau,
sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called 'truth.'"
