English Language Development Program
This is my 11th year teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages for Montgomery County Schools. I am happy to say, I LOVE MY JOB!!!
My students all come from homes where another language is spoken. In Montgomery County, we have approximately 110 students in the English Language Development Program and about 6 different languages are represented. That makes my job very interesting and challenging.
I'll tell you a little about myself. First, I have a wonderful husband, Damon. He is very creative, smart and inspiring. We have 2 children. My stepdaughter, Hailee is a graduate of the University of Kentucky. She has recently returned from Nicaragua where she served in the Peace Corp in the area of Public Health. She is such a hard worker and a free spirit. I only wish I could see the world through her eyes. Last, my son Anthony is 20 and sophomore at Morehead State University. I am so proud to be his mom. He is so witty, generous, and kind. In addition to my human children, I have 3 furry babies. Josie is my chow mix who is the best guard dog a girl could want. She has no time for playing or tricks...she's always guarding me. Charles Barkley is my overgrown, overweight and extremely friendly Pomeranian. He actually smiles, loves to swim and can catch food in midair. Goose (actually Hailee's dog) is a HUGE pit bull and is the sweetest, most gentle guy I've ever met. He loves to cuddle and run.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in psychology and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in secondary social studies from Morehead State University. In 2010, I completed my ESL endorsement through Murray State University followed by a Rank I certification from Morehead State University. I love learning and I hope my students are inspired by my passion for education.
I can't wait to have another exciting and effective year with our children.
