About Ms. Lee

I was born and raised in Mt. Sterling, KY and I even attended the old Mapleton Elementary that was located where the Kroger shopping center is now. I grew up in a very sports oriented family and found out early on that I had an interest in basketball. I started playing basketball in elementary school and continued all the way through college. I played basketball for Montgomery County High School in the late 90s and was a part of a very successful team. I had the opportunity to play in 4 consecutive KHSAA State Tournaments and was runner-up in the State Championship game in 1998. After my high school basketball career, I was very fortunate to continue playing basketball for Campbellsville University. I earn a full basketball scholarship which paid for my entire education. At Campbellsville University, I became the all-time leading rebounder (1,399 career rebounds), was named MidSouth Conference Player of the Year (2002, 2003) and was named WBCA Kodak All-American (2001, 2002, 2003). I graduated from Campbellsville University in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. This summer I completed my master's degree from the University of the Cumberlands.

This is my 10th year teaching Physical Education at Mapleton Elementary. I have also spent 6 years coaching basketball at McNabb Middle and Montgomery County High School. Fours years ago, I coached college basketball as a part time assistant coach at Campbellsville University. It was a great experience to coach at my alma mater. However, the distance and the time commitment was too much, so I decide to step down and focus my attention on teaching.

Away from school, I like to spend time with my family. I am the oldest of three children in my family. My brother, Tyler, played baseball for Morehead State and University of the Cumberlands. My sister, MacKenzie, graduated from Campbellsville University and is now a fourth grade teacher at Mapleton. I don't have any children but I do have two German Shepherds. Gus is 8 years old and Grey is almost a year old. Both love to play ball or catch a frisbee in our back yard. Running is a hobby that I really enjoy. I have completed one full marathon (26.2 miles), several half marathons (13.1 miles) and several smaller races.
