Dear Parents of JROTC Cadets
September 11, 2017
We are off to a very exciting year in the most challenging and exciting program in Montgomery County High School. Now that uniforms have been issued and the company rosters are filled, we are off and running. It is critical for our students to keep accountability of their uniforms, keep their grades up, and maintain good attendance at school. Our extra- curricular activities are grade dependent. If they are not passing their core classes and are not in school, then they cannot compete. Our Raider team (a physical fitness organization), practices after school on Monday and Wednesday, our rope bridge team will start soon. All practices end at 5 pm. Our drill team practices after school on Tuesday and color guard practices on Thursday until 5 pm. If you have any questions at any time please feel free to give SFC Walker or myself a quick phone call. Please insure your cadet has a ride at 5 pm sharp!
Our first Raider competition will be Saturday September 16th at Marion County high school and our 1st home competition will be 28 October right here at Montgomery County High School. The entry fee is free. Our students will run the entire competition from 8 am until 3 pm. What we do need from you though, are some willing parents to work a shift of 1 -2 hours at our concessions stand. This is where we make the money to run our program. Please contact Ms Kasey McMillen @ (859) 432-2513 or SFC Walker (606) 344-7136.
We will have a booster parent meeting on 23 September 2017 in the JROTC room at 10:00 am. Please attend. It should only take about 30 minutes.
Thank you so much for allowing us to work with your young men and women.
