JROTC Raider Team Try Outs

JROTC Raider team try outs will be held after school on Wednesday 13 September. Any male or female member of the JROTC who would like to compete on the Raider team this year should stay after school on Weds to participate in a Physical Fitness Test (PFT). This test will consist of 1 minute of push-ups, 1 minute of sit-ups and completing a one mile run on our track as quickly as possible. Students need to be picked up at 5 pm sharp at the flag pole in front of the high school.
The JROTC Raider team is a 10 - 12 member team (consisting of at least 8 boys/2 girls) that will compete against other schools in physically demanding events such as the PT test, one rope bridge crossing, litter carries, academic test, and other physically demanding events. All participants need to be physically capable of rigorous activities.
Our current Raider competitions are:
- Marion County – Sat 16 September (5:45 am drop off at JROTC room, depart at 6 am and return at 6 pm).
- Whitley County – Sat 7 October
- Home Competition here at MCHS – Sat 28 October
Please make sure all your cadets arrive on time to get transportation to the event and have transportation at pick up time. All cadets should also bring a clean change of clothes, they will get dirty, and at least $12 to purchase food at lunch. We also tend to stop at a restaurant on the way home.
