About Mr. Purtee

Hello Everybody!   My name is Josh Purtee and this will be my 3rd year at MCIS and my 8th year in the field of education.  I am very thrilled to be working for the Montgomery County School System and at MCIS!   Starting off both of my parents are retired educators. My mom taught for 27 years as an elementary teacher in the Boyd County School System.  My stepfather was an elementary teacher and an elementary principal in the Boyd County School System for many years before retiring. I guess you could say that teaching is in my blood, LOL!  Some of my hobbies include (when time allows) reading, watching tv, movies, surfing the net,  jogging, exercising, and watching sports.  I am a huge Kentucky Wildcats (both football and basketball) and a Cleveland Browns fan!  I'm not a big fan of baseball but I do keep up with the Cincinnati Reds when they are having a decent year. However, the one sport I love the most in the world is golf.  I've been playing golf for over 20 years and I am still love the game just as much as the first day I swung a club.   I am very passionate about the sport just as much as I am about teaching.  I feel very blessed to be a part of the MCIS family.  If there is anything I can do please do not hesitate to contact me at the school at (859) 497-8703 or you may Email me at josh.purtee@montgomery.kyschools.us.  I will try my best to get back to you in a timely fashion.
