  2. hyperbole: obvious and intentional exaggeration
  3. pun: a play on words
  4. personification: giving human characteristics to animals or inanimate objects
  5. idiom: words or phrases that have a different meaning than what is said; can’t be taken literally
  6. alliteration: the repetition of an initial consonant sound
  7. stanza: an arrangement of lines forming a division of a poem
  8. patron: a person who is a customer, client, or paying guest
  9. fraud: breach of confidence or trickery to gain an unfair advantage
  10. defiance: a daring or bold resistance to authority; open disregard or contempt
