  • We will be identifying non-fiction text features such as table of contents, glossary, index, captions, labels, headings, photographs, bold print, and italics.
  • We will read and write words with the beginning s blends such as sp, sm, sk, and sw.

    < >Art:  We will be working on Native American projects for several weeks. This week’s focus is line symmetry. Physical Education: We are practicing our locomotor movements (feet move) and non locomotor movements (feet do not move).  Music:  We will be exploring Winter through movement and dance. Our element of the month in first grade is Tempo. Tempo is an element shared by both Music and Dance. Tempo is the speed (of the music) (of the dance).
  • Important Reminders

    < >Please help your child to keep all toys at home.    It is very important to check your child’s agenda every night.  The A-Z Readers are due back on Thursdays.  They are sent home on Monday evening.  Homework is due on Friday of every week.  Please read with your child 30 minutes every night.  Room temperatures can be cool or warm.  Please have your child bring a light jacket or sweat shirt.  Also, gloves and jackets are needed for outside.   UPCOMING EVENTS:

    • All picture orders and money are due in on Friday, November 14, 2014.
    • Friday, November 14, 2014 is Picture Day Make-ups. 
    • PTO meeting is on Monday November 17, 2014 at 5:30 p.m.
    • SBDM meeting is on Thursday, November 20, 2014
    • Volunteers for the Christmas Store are needed the week of Dec.8.  If you are interested in helping, please contact your child’s teacher.
