About Mrs. Allen

WELCOME TO OUR TEAM!!
I would like to welcome you and your child to Kindergarten!  Kindergarten is one of the most exciting milestones in your child's life!
I am so excited about this school year and so happy to have your child in our class! I understand that you and your child may have met this experience with excitement or apprehension (or a little of both!).   It's my goal to provide every child with a learning experience that will help them reach their full potential and to foster the love of learning.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME…
This will be my 20th year teaching.  I have spent 14 years teaching Preschool and this will be my sixth year in Kindergarten.  I graduated with an Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (IECE) certification from Morehead State University and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Eastern Kentucky University.

My husband Tim and I live here in Mt. Sterling and we have two girls, Kacie Beth who is 14 and Megan Grace who is 12. We have a sweet Maltipoo named Bailey that constantly makes us laugh.  When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, camping, decorating, shopping, watching my girls play tennis and doing church activities.  I have always had a passion for working with young children and believe there is nothing as exciting as an Early Childhood classroom!

COMMUNICATION
I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Please feel free to ask questions, attend conferences and initiate meetings with me if you feel the need.  Throughout the year I will communicate with you through newsletters, notes, telephone calls, and progress reports. If you have access to an email account, emailing is another great way to keep in touch. We will keep you informed of our progress and will suggest activities you can do at home to help extend our learning focus.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at anytime. You can reach me at 497-8730 or email me at
Crystal.Allen@montgomery.kyschools.us.  Please know that we will do our best to ensure that each child's needs are met!

I love teaching and can't wait to work with your child this year.  It's going to be a fun-filled year of learning and growing!
