My name is Mrs. Amanda Meek. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Morehead State University.  I also completed my Master of Arts Degree  in Elementary Education with an emphasis in reading through Morehead State University. This school year, will be my 14th year as a full time teacher in Montgomery County. I taught first grade for eight years and kindergarten for five years at Mt. Sterling Elementary.  This year, I am excited to be teaching kindergarten at Northview Elementary School! Having experience in first grade helps me challenge you to reach for the stars.  I absolutely love teaching and reading is my favorite subject.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Ryan and we have two wonderful kids.  I am excited that both of my kiddos will get to attend the same school with me this year!  My daughter, Avery will be in fourth grade and my son, Jaxon will be in kindergarten.  They are so much fun and keep me on my toes.  I love them so much!  I'll miss them while I am at school, so I will need lots of hugs from you.

My favorite thing about being a teacher is getting to work with amazing kids in genereal, but especially when they get those "ah ha" moments. Students work really hard to understand someting and all of a sudden, it clicks and they get it. My heart melts everytime I see thier faces light up with excitement!  Watching students grow and achieve new skills makes my job so rewarding.  I also love it when my "old" students come back to share hugs, smiles, milestones, and memories.  I teach with my whole heart.  I make personal connections with each child and believe that they are all uniquely special.  Once a child is in my class, they will forever be one of "my kids".  I love my job and truly believe that I have the best job in the world!!!
