LET I – Foundations for success (580240/1 credit): is primarily an introductory level course for freshmen or first year’s cadets. This course will introduce the cadet to the United States Army JROTC training program, its mission, and the Leadership Education and Training level curriculum for the first level of instruction. They will begin to develop leadership skills and maximize their potential for success through learning and self-management. Cadets will learn to build effective relationships with peers, co-workers, and the community (conflict resolution and service learning). Completing the material in this course requires discipline and hard work, but the reward is well worth the effort. The course material is divided into six (6) sections. They are: 1. Citizenship in Action, 2. Leadership Theory and Application, 3. Foundations for success, 4. Wellness, Fitness, and First aid, 5. Geography, Map Skills, and Environmental Awareness, and 6. Citizenship in History and Government. This course may be used to satisfy the state physical education requirement for high school.
