Class Description:
This course will serve as a capstone to the study of America's history in grades 5 and 8. The focus of this class will begin with the post- Civil War period and continue through the 1900s. This course will examine the forces that shaped and continue to shape our political, economic, and social institutions and the impact of those forces on the development of the United States in the Twentieth Century. It may be taught chronologically and/or thematically. Students in this class will develop inquiry skills by using a variety of written and electronic sources.

      US History is an E.O.C. Course!
      Parents and students,

      The End of Course Assessment (E.O.C.) will be counted as 20% of student's final grades for United States History as mandated by Senate Bill 1 and adopted by our local board of education. In Short, students will be given a comprehensive state mandated final at the end of class that will impact 20% of the grade.
