Dear Northview Families,
It is with great honor and excitement that I, along with all of the staff at Northview Elementary, welcome you to the 2018-2019 school year. We are all privileged to be a part of a very special place in history; we are the very first students, parents, guardians, staff members, and community members to call Northview “home.”
I would like to take this time to introduce myself as the new Principal at NES. I have always called Mount Sterling home and have dedicated my life to the students in our community as an Assistant Principal at Mount Sterling Elementary, a high school art teacher, and as the head coach of our Boys Soccer team. My degrees include a Bachelors of Art in Art Education P-12, a Masters in Art, and Professional Certificates for Director of Pupil Personnel, Instructional Leadership-Supervisor of Instruction, and Instructional Leadership-Principal all grades, from Morehead State University.
I hope that each and every one of you has had a wonderful summer break filled with fun, laughter, and time spent with your friends and families. As the summer comes to an end it begins a new and exciting chapter. As we begin this journey I want each of you to know that our staff is committed to high academic expectations for all students with an additional emphasis on service learning and character building. I look forward to partnering with all of our families and other stakeholders to ensure that all students reach their utmost potential.
This year we will be communicating through weekly newsletters, weekly one calls, grade level newsletters, and student agenda books. Communication is always important and our staff is committed to answering any questions you may have. Please feel free to call or email if you need help.
Start and dismissal times have changed for all elementary schools. We will begin instruction at 7:45 a.m. and be dismissed at 2:45 p.m. Buses will unload at 7:05 a.m. Students will report to the cafeteria for breakfast or the gymnasium. At 7:15 a.m. the doors will open for students being dropped off. They may report to the cafeteria for breakfast or to the gymnasium. Please make sure to get further information at Open House for drop-off and pick-up procedures.
This is going to be the start of amazing things at Northview Elementary. Please contact me if I can help in any way.
All the best,
Nick Pannell, Principal
