  • Duke TIP

Five phenomenal 7th graders qualified for state recognition in the Duke Talent Identification Program.  The students take the ACT college entrance exam and any who score at or above the national average for high school students are recognized at the state level in a ceremony. Of those give students, one qualified for GRAND recognition, which includes a special ceremony at Duke University.  Only about 3% of students in the nation achieve at this level.  GRAND RECOGNITION (State plus Duke): Landon Cord; STATE RECOGNITION: Lacey Johnson, Lorien Molstad, Caitlin Reynolds, and Hayden Stull.

  • Matthew Rutherford Wins T-Shirt Design Contest

Migrant Education’s Eastern Regional Office began making plans for a summer camp that will be held at Morehead State University in June 2017.  They asked migrant students in grades 8-11 to submit a piece of artwork that will be used as the design for the summer camp t-shirt.  The theme was “Overcoming Obstacles.”   Matthew Rutherford’s design was selected as the winner out of entries from 27 counties.  Matthew is an eighth grade student at McNabb Middle School.  We are very proud of Matthew’s accomplishment!
